Across from Shady Beach, lies the Taylor Farm Dog Park. It offers offering ample and separate areas for small and large dogs, as well as convenient amenities such as water fountains and waste disposal stations.
From 1790 until 1920, the Marvin-Taylor family operated a farm here. Matthew Marvin was one of Norwalk’s earliest residents. The 30 acres of this park is what remains of the former farm property. In 1968, his descendents, William Marvin Taylor and Frederick Bradford Taylor sold what remained of the property to the City of Norwalk. Ten acres became the Marvin School up the road, built in 1970.
