Eco Evolution

Logo for Eco Evolution, featuring a globe with plant leaves growing from it, alongside the text ECO EVOLUTION Marketplace Meeting Space with a small leaf icon between Marketplace and Meeting Space.

Part cafe, part gift shop, part art project, it is kind of hard to pin down what Eco Evolution is. Despite this free range formula, Eco Evolution has become an anchor on Washington Street. Located at the bridge end of the street, the friendly store embodies a chill vibe that is a welcome respite from the rest of SoNo. It’s the kind of place that you can hang out with friends, or make new ones.

There’s the eclectic vintage goods that dominate the retail area. But on closer inspection, many local artists are represented with arts and crafts for sale. Norwalk once fostered this kind of local vibe, and its great to see this version of what used the be the mainstay vibe on SoNo.

The Eco Dude, Brad Kerner, has spent a long time in the field with various organic and recycling efforts. But don’t take our word for it, his own words tell the story with photos. The result is one of the larger collections of sustainable goods available for sale.

The coffee is good, and everything seems sourced locally. And they run events, host meetups and generally spread the kind word about saving the planet.
