SONO Wood Fired
ADDRESS: 60 Connecticut Avenue Norwalk CT 06850
PHONE: (203) 853-1111
HOURS: Monday- Sunday 11am – 11pm
Don’t let wood stacks fool you, this place has superb pizza, plus the casual cuisine of a great Italian eatery. This SoNo eatery imported one of those wood-fired ovens that deliver Napoli-style pizza, thin and sagging in the middle, piping hot, and ready to eat in 10 minutes. Everything is made with that in mind. From the custom Forza Forni oven, heated solely by the logs of wood stacked nearby and in the front window. The dough is made every day following the traditional recipe that sprang from the Bay of Naples. Classic Italian dishes are on the menu, and a craft cocktail bar offers new tastes to explore.

Sheets of square pizza, means Sicilian style, and the rich sauce and seasonal veggies mean that you are exploring another “Old World” taste in a new world tradition.
Romanacci’s however, translates to from Rome, and the two brothers who have made this corner of a Norwalk strip mall a slice of Roma, deliver on the flavors of the eternal city. A couple of doors down from Osteria Romana, a traditional sit-down restaurant and also part of the Romanacci family. Romanacci’s is the culinary lab where the fast flavors of the season inspire the offerings, which include salads and paninis. Featuring two rooms and a patio, your vibe can be satisfied with a suburban spin on a trattoria.
Magic 5 Pie Co.:
ADDRESS: 230 East Ave, East Norwalk, CT 06855
PHONE: (203) 354-3109
This neighborhood pizza place is kind of new to the Norwalk scene, and made the list of our go-to places, for its outdoor patio, its chill vibe, and its take on what an innovative pizza is all about. Like many places, they offer more than just pizza. To describe the pizza style would be inadequate because although the brick oven is a featured component, it’s the toppings and the creativity that makes Magic 5 Pie Co. the place to discover more than just your everyday pizza.
They sport an outdoor bar when the New England weather decides its that season, and an indoor one when you just want to step off that train, and grab a bite. A few steps from the East Norwalk Train Station, in the heart of the perpetual Walk Bridge construction destruction, you can find them from East Ave., in the middle of the Brim and Crown complex, or off the driveway on Rowan street.
Jordan’s
ADDRESS: 369 Westport Ave. Norwalk 06851
PHONE: (203) 846-9557
Jordan’s has been in Norwalk for a long time. They also have another location off Flax Hill. But we like the OG. This is Greek-style pizza at its finest. Jordan’s offers way more than just delicious pies. They have a full menu of entrees and salads, bringing that Mediterranean flavor to countless generations of Norwalkers. They are also community-focused, sponsoring Norwalk’s school events, games, and fundraisers through the decades. Which means the dining experience can vary between the after-game celebration or the alumni meetup. They are exactly the type of place that celebrates the idea of small-town community with action. Jordan’s in many ways, is the heart and soul of Norwalk. They’ve been slinging pies since 1983, and needless to say, this is a family-owned and operated place.
Massimo’s Italian Corner
PHONE: (203) 354-5677
HOURS: Monday- Sunday 8am – 9 pm
The newest entry on our short list of faves is Massimo’s. From the moment you step into the eatery, you are in a place that takes its Italian roots seriously. From the espresso to the wall lined with Italian imports, this is the spot where you can grab and go or savor on the spot. What we like about Massimo’s is that your commitment to great pizza can start with a slice. The other key detail about Massimo’s is that they are committed to being a breakfast spot, so the pastries are plentiful, and they are open early.
