Overton sits on the Norwalk Harbor next to Veteran’s Park. It’s a seasonally operated waterside hamburger and hot dog stand, kind of a dying breed in Connecticut, and one of two found in Norwalk. It’s owned by the same restauranteurs that operate Harbor Lights. Overton’s has lasted over 60 years in the same location, and while longevity in restaurants is a remarkable thing, the location is the draw in this case.
People can either sit on the deck overlooking the harbor, walk to Veteran’s Park or across Seaside Avenue to look at Mill Pond. The stand also features a long dock for boats to tie up. The stand is open between March and November each year.
It’s everything you want in a low-key, easy going food stand that serves fried clams and oysters, lobster rolls, hamburgers and hot dogs.
