It sounds so innocuous, a pause, doesn’t it? A respite, a temporary condition, a rest stop somewhere along the way– and yet this pause came about because of a global pandemic.
We are all feeling a fleeting moment in various ways, maybe still doing what we used to do or something entirely different from what we are doing now. We are all suspended in a pause between the before times and the new normal. A waypoint on a collective journey of restrictions and changes.
Great art is a reflection of a moment in time that compels the viewer to react. This exhibit reflects the pandemic’s impact on local artists who work out of the studios at the Center for Contemporary Prints.
Located a five-minute walk in the heart of Mathews Park, the Center for Contemporary Prints is a world-class arts center focused on preserving the art of printmaking. In the spirit of celebrating Women’s History Month, the artists showing their work represent women printmakers.
Way Pointe and Alfred generously sponsored this exhibit in the Spring of 2021.
