Many businesses have gotten creative with their offerings during these challenging times of COVID-19. Particularly those who are in the business of keeping us healthy and well.

Yoga studios are utilizing technology to keep us connected and grounded during these somewhat isolating and uncertain times. (Plus, it’s good to move our bodies to counteract all of the yummy take-out food we’ve been ordering). Here is what a few of our favorite local studios are doing.

Yoga203 has been live streaming all of their regular classes via Zoom. You sign up for a class online and then they send a link to the class. This is cool because it’s happening in real time so you feel like you’re still in a yoga class with fellow yogis and you can see and talk to each other.

Dew Yoga has been recording a wide range of classes with a variety of their awesome teachers and sharing them online. In addition to the physical practice, Dew Yoga offers several classes of breathing and meditation, including Yoga Nidra – a guided deep meditation that is excellent for relaxation and reduction of anxiety. Many online classes are free, but even more can be unlocked by supporting them via their Patreon account.

Saraswati Yoga Joint is now live streaming a couple of classes each day via Zoom. You sign up using their online booking system at least an hour before the scheduled start time and then they send the link – and a Spotify playlist. (They had almost 150 yogis participate in their first stream on Sunday!) They also have several classes available to view on Vimeo.

Stamford Yoga Center is live streaming classes at 9:15am and 6pm (Monday-Friday), 9:15am and 4:30pm (Saturday and Sunday). Register using their online booking system to receive the link to the Zoom . StamYo’s tagline is something we could all benefit from right now: Expertise. Humor. Heart.

Other area wellness businesses are working hard to provide people with natural options for staying healthy.

Our friends at Arogya offer a variety of immune-boosting teas, herbs, and oils and can ship them to you quickly. They also provide a lot of great advice via their blog and email newsletter.

Wildflower Centre for Natural Healing is a modern apothecary and wellness boutique that specializes in herbal compounding and custom tea blending. They offer a wide array of healing herbs, supplements and tea and are currently offering curbside pickup for online and phone orders.

And for those looking to grow some fresh food instead of making trips to the grocery store, here are some of our favorite family-owned farms in the area. Plus, being outside in the garden is a nice break from being inside on screens!

Gilbertie’s is a 4th generation family owned store that has been in Westport since 1922! They are the largest herb plant grower on the East Coast and provide certified organic products all over the north east. Gilbertie’s is currently offering curbside pay and pickup (they’ll bring it right to your car) as well as FREE delivery services (local) for orders over $100 now thru 4/3/2020.

Reynolds Farms has been family-owned and operated since 1957. They are ready for spring (even our crazy Connecticut kind that contains snow). They currently have limited retail hours, but will be happy to deliver topsoil, mulch, firewood and plants.

Stay well!
